Groupe BO Concept (GBC), based in Anjou, Que., won first prize in the vehicle graphics category of the recent 2012 Quebec Sign Show’s awards program. The prize honoured a fleet rebranding project for Amaro, a Montreal-based natural spring water bottler.
More than 80 Amaro-branded vehicles were rewrapped in 2011, when Joannie Rochette—the Canadian figure skater who won bronze at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver—became the company’s new spokesperson. The vehicles ranged from minivans to cube trucks to 14.6-m (48-ft) long tractor-trailers.
“We selected a cast wrap film with a lustre overlaminate,” says Martin Blanchet, account manager for GBC. “Large trucks and new trailer graphics were printed with ultraviolet-curable (UV-curable) inks, while durable aqueous inks were used to print the smaller vehicle graphics, to ensure high quality and to keep the film’s conformability. The challenge was to wrap 82 vehicles belonging to about 20 distributors within a tight schedule.”
The Quebec Sign Show took place in late May in Boucherville, Que., organized by l’Association Québecoise de l’Industrie de l’Enseigne (AQIE). The award winners were announced during a banquet on May 25.
