The municipal sign shop for Burnaby, B.C., has installed a new Agfa Anapurna M2540 FB ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) flatbed digital inkjet printer from ND Graphics to replace its screenprinting process for producing traffic and other city signs.
The decision for the change was made with environmental sustainability in mind, as the screen process involved potentially harmful chemicals. The M2540 can print on practically any rigid or sheet material, including corrugated boards, rigid plastics, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), aluminum and medium-density fibreboard (MDF).
