Following a pilot project in Halton Hills, Ont., and Lethbridge, Alta., Calgary-based digital signage system provider E-Display is deploying dynamic menu boards for Famous Wok quick-service restaurants (QSRs) in shopping mall food courts across Canada and the U.S.
The Chinese-food franchise system—which also operates under the Kung Pao Wok, Sizzling Wok and Flaming Wok brands—initially launched its digital signage network in Halton Hills’ Toronto Premium Outlets and Lethbridge’s Park Place Mall to review E-Display’s software, hardware and installation processes.
Five commercial-grade 1.2-m (47-in.) liquid crystal displays (LCDs) were mounted in landscape mode at the two locations to replace static menu boards. A variety of content layouts were created for different products, prices and promotions.
Now, the digital menus are being installed at Guildford Mall in Surrey, B.C., East Gate Square Mall in Hamilton and Las Vegas Premium Outlets in Las Vegas, Nev.
