2018 ISA Innovation Awards honour breakthroughs in sign technology

The International Sign Association (ISA) has named the three winners of its 2018 Innovation Awards, as selected from among 54 entries by a panel of industry experts. They will be showcased at this month’s International Sign Expo.

In the electrical and traditional signage category, the winner was Component Signage’s Inciseon Skeletonized (pictured, left), a 12-V light-emitting diode (LED) system intended as a direct replacement for glass tube neon illumination.

In the print category, the winner was Mimaki’s UCJV300-160 (pictured, right), a 1.5-m (60-in.) wide ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) printer-cutter that uses white ink to enable four-layer printing and can produce transitional backlit panels with morphing colour schemes.

Finally, in the business solutions/software category, the winner was Cirrus Systems’ Sight (see video), which uses analytics reporting to allow marketing teams to track and optimize the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on digital signage.

The three companies will be honoured at a show-floor reception on Mar. 22 at the International Sign Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
