Montreal-based Contact Image has acquired a Scitex LX800 printer from HP Canada to support much tighter project deadlines.

“The LX800 is four times more productive than our previous printer,” says Normand Limoges, president of Contact Image. “I can now serve clients for whom it was once impossible for me to deliver orders within their required time frames. We are already seeing a positive impact on our profit margins.”

Over the past 30 years, Contact has positioned itself in the market with a full range of products. Hence, while the LX800’s odour-free, instant-dry inks played a major part in the company’s decision to install it, the deciding factor was its flexibility.

“Not only does the press give us greater resolution, but it can also print on a huge range of materials,” says Limoges. “Whereas in the past we needed one printer per application, now we have several technologies in a single printer. This allows us to offer new products to our clients.”
