5 things to know

1. The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is updating its subway station entrance pylon signs with a modern but retro look, rolling out simplified logo ‘keystone’ signs across its network throughout the rest of this year.

2. A new public art installation on Ottawa’s York Street steps, created by Naomi Ratte of the Peguis First Nation, features six salmon appearing to leap up a river’s waterfall. It is fittingly titled Kwáshkwan-in!, the Algonquin word for ‘jump.’

3. Toronto-based MaxTV Media, which manages interactive digital notice boards in residential condominium buildings across Ontario, has added its inventory to Campsite Global’s programmatic digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising platform.

4. Vancouver has become the first municipality to participate in a national railway crossing safety awareness program with the introduction of yellow, diamond-shaped street decals encouraging caution for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.

5. Cadillac Fairview (CF) has installed a ‘rainbow runway’ graphic at the Toronto-Dominion (TD) Centre’s outdoor courtyard in downtown Toronto, in celebration of the city’s Pride Month, which is currently underway.
