The Digital Screenmedia Association (DSA) has announced the winners of its 2014 Awards of Excellence, including several Canadian projects. The annual awards recognize the best digital signage deployments across all vertical markets.
Montreal-based content developer Arsenal Media won in the ‘government/education/non-profit digital signage’ category with its ceiling-suspended display for the Montreal Convention Centre (pictured, above).
Cineplex Digital Solutions, based in Waterloo, Ont., won in the ‘corporate communications self-service/interactive kiosk’ category with a responsive video wall for the Winter Garden public space in Ottawa’s Performance Court, a new office complex.
Toronto-based Gesturetek won in the ‘entertainment/gaming digital signage’ category for its Art Alive! gesture-based and mobile-connected display deployed for the Crayola Experience in Easton, Penn.
Finally, the digital signage division of telecommunications provider Telus—headquartered in Burnaby, B.C.—won in the ‘best retail digital signage’ category for its recent work on FGL Sports’ new flagship Sport Chek store in the West Edmonton Mall.
“This was one of the best sets of entries we have ever seen,” says Paul Flanigan, DSA’s executive director. “We received entries from around the world, including Canada, the U.S., Australia, Taiwan, the U.A.E. and Denmark.”
