Two of Brazil’s stadiums currently hosting the 2014 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup are using Daktronics light-emitting diode (LED) video boards to elevate the game-day experience.
The first is Arena das Dunas (pictured) in Natal, the capital of and largest city in Rio Grande do Norte. A Daktronics field technician was assigned to the site for preventative maintenance and inspection before the first match on June 13 and subsequent support.
The second is Arena da Amazonia in Manaus, the capital of Amazonas. Another field technician was on-site to ensure its displays were operating at full capabilities before the first match, then provided support and service throughout their use.
“It is a great honour to have our displays adding to the overall excitement and atmosphere,” says Osvaldo Toshimitsu, Daktronics’ manager for Brazil. “These facilities are hosting some highly anticipated matches.”
