Signage Foundation names new chair

DuaneLaskaDuane Laska has been named chair of the Signage Foundation, a non-for-profit organization dedicated to peer-reviewed research of issues related to on-premise signage and known for its annual National Signage Research & Education Conference (NSREC).

Laska has previously served in various leadership positions for the Signage Foundation, including secretary-treasurer, program committee chair and NSREC planning committee chair. He was responsible for initiating the organization’s internship program, sponsoring the first intern at his own company, North Shore Sign, in 2010. He has also served the industry by working with the International Sign Association (ISA) and World Sign Associates (WSA).

“Duane brings a collaborative spirit that will serve the foundation well as it seeks to link multiple disciplines and stakeholders together,” says Ken Von Wald, outgoing chair, who will now serve as secretary-treasurer.
