In mid-October, Agfa Graphics made its Anapurna M2050i hybrid wide-format inkjet printer—originally announced in May—available in Canada.
The electromechanically redesigned ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) press reportedly achieves up to 75 per cent greater productivity than its predecessor. In combination with a precision belt transport drive system, new printheads and Agfa’s ‘thin ink layer’ technology offer better-optimized dot positioning for solid colours, fine text reproduction and tonal rendering on rigid and flexible substrates for indoor and outdoor applications.
The printer is integrated with Agfa’s Asanti workflow software for colour management and automatic pre-flighting to help minimize errors. Further productivity gains can be realized through dual-board and borderless printing.
