Roland DGA reports six owners of its printers and cutters won a total of 12 Golden Image Awards at the recent 2014 Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) Expo in Las Vegas, Nev.
“The talents and capabilities of our users have once again impressed the judges,” says Rick Scrimger, president of Roland DGA. “We congratulate all of the winners and look forward to playing a continuing role in supplying the digital printing equipment that helps take their creative accomplishments to new heights.”
Cascade Graphics led the way with three small-format projects, including a headset that won gold in the ‘decals, labels and stickers’ subgroup and a floral-print card and Bluetooth speaker that won gold and silver, respectively, in ‘three-dimensional (3-D) plastic products.’
Modagrafics won two silver awards for a wall graphic (‘unique applications’) and an aluminum advertising display (‘retail and point-of-purchase (POP) displays and exhibits’). Bacova Guild won silver and bronze in ‘textile products’ for its rugs printed with dye sublimation inks, while Santi Arts Hi-Tech Medias won silver and bronze in ‘vacuum-formed/distortion printed products’ with wide-format embossed effects. And Alpine Graphics Production earned honourable mentions in ‘vehicle wraps’ and ‘building graphics’ with a nostalgic milk truck wrap and vibrant graphics for the walls of a high school washroom (pictured, left).
Last but not least, Metropolitan West won gold in ‘interior design’ with a metallic wallcovering (right) for Beats by Dre.
