Ottawa digital signs flip for TV campaign

Montreal-based out-of-home (OOH) advertising firm Zoom Media Canada has ‘flipped’ its digital posters on their side in restaurant, bar and fitness club restrooms in Ottawa to mimic Bell Canada’s Fibe wireless TV service.

Media Experts retained Zoom to promote the launch of Fibe in the Ottawa market. The campaign aimed to demonstrate how customers can now install their TVs anywhere, even in the washroom. To this end, existing digital posters were changed from vertical (portrait) to horizontal (landscape) mode and dressed up to resemble consumer-grade flat-screen TVs. Motion detection sensors were also added, lighting up the boards whenever someone passed by them.

The multi-network campaign also used banners, printed posters and ‘classic’ digital signage spots.
