Pan Am Games countdown clock wins Digi Award

ciscoclockMontreal-based digital signage software developer X2O Media has won a 2015 Digi Award for its work on Cisco Canada’s countdown clock for Toronto’s upcoming Pan American (Pan Am) and Parapan Am Games.

The towering clock, which combines elements of static, digital and interactive signage, was unveiled last July at Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square, in front of City Hall (see Sign Media Canada, September 2014, page 30). Along with Cisco’s engineering and X2O’s software, Fourth Wall Media oversaw the development of the physical structure, Enseicom fabricated weatherproof cabinets, Optimum Graphiques printed vinyl pictograms and Trade Sync oversaw installation.

The annual Digi Awards recognize digital signage resellers, integrators and service providers. The countdown clock won in the sports venue deployment category.

X2O also won a content award in the corporate communications category for its work on Lockheed Martin’s Velocity News Network (VNN), while fellow software developer Omnivex in Concord, Ont., won in the transportation deployment category for its interactive wayfinding kiosks at San Francisco International Airport.
