Canadians install award-winning digital signage

Morguard2The winners of the sixth annual Digital Signage Expo (DSE) Apex Installation Awards were recently announced and several Canadian organizations were among those honoured. The awards recognize achievements in digital display and interactive technology installation.

Toronto-based GestureTek’s interactive ‘fossil dig site’ for Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls, Ont., won gold in the arts, entertainment and recreation category, while another GestureTek installation for a Richtree restaurant in Toronto’s Eaton Centre won silver in the food and beverage division. In the public spaces category, Cineplex Digital Solutions’ towering digital canvas for Morguard Investments’ Performance Court in Ottawa (pictured) won gold.

The professional and personal services category was swept by Canadians. Gold went to Vancouver-based 10net Managed Solutions’ transparent video display for BlueShore Financial in North Vancouver, silver went to Cineplex Digital Solutions’ video walls for Scotiabank in Montreal and bronze honoured public-facing digital displays arranged for Salmon Arm Savings and Credit Union (SASCU) in Salmon Arm, B.C., by Capital Networks in Markham, Ont.

Finally, in the retail category, silver went to North Strategic’s ‘digitally immersive’ environment at FGL Sports’ flagship Sport Chek store in the West Edmonton Mall, while bronze honoured Montreal-based X2O Media’s network for a Verizon store at the Mall of America.
