Canadians are among the nominees recently announced for the 2014 Digital Signage Expo (DSE) Apex and Content Awards. The winners will be announced at the annual industry event in Las Vegas, Nev., in February.

Among the finalists for the Apex Awards, which honour innovation in digital signage project deployments, are: the Crayola Experience (pictured) by Toronto-based GestureTek Systems; a Christie Digital Systems multi-tile ‘mosaic’ lobby display in Cypress, Calif., by Montreal-based Arsenal Media and RP Visual Solutions; the General Electric (GE) Digital Energy video wall by Advanced in Mississauga, Ont.; the Buffalo Sabres Hockey Club’s displays by Toronto-based Westbury National Show Systems; a Scotiabank video wall at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre by Cineplex Digital Solutions in Waterloo, Ont.; a Kazakhstan Telecom and A1 Productions ‘digital canvas’ by Arsenal; and towering Holt Renfrew video walls at Yorkdale by Gridcast Media in Richmond Hill, Ont.

For the Content Awards, which focus strictly on digital signage content, some of the finalists are the same, including GestureTek for the Crayola Experience and Arsenal for the Christie lobby. Arsenal picks up another nomination for the Montreal Congress Centre’s digital signage and Go2 Productions is in the running with content created for Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Burnaby, B.C.
