NanoLumens, which manufactures light, thin and flexible digital displays, has appointed Mark Carlson general counsel and vice-president (VP) of strategic initiatives and Burt Smith executive VP (EVP) of business development.
Carlson has experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions, business development and consulting. In his new role, he reports directly to NanoLumens CEO Rick Cope.
“Mark has both the legal and the general business background we need at this juncture in our growth trajectory,” says Cope. “Increasingly, the role of general counsel shapes business operations, risk management and corporate conduct.”
Smith has more than 25 years’ experience in technology sales, marketing and operations management. He succeeds Karen Robinson, who now directs NanoLumens’ mergers and acquisitions initiatives.
“Burt has the global business development experience we need to achieve our sales objectives,” says Cope. “While we continue to build our base in North America, we will also broaden our efforts throughout the U.K., Europe, Middle East and Asia.”
