Toronto tests digital signage to promote transit and vehicle-sharing

transitscreen copyToronto’s municipal government is pilot-testing TransitScreen displays in some of the public buildings it owns, including City Hall and Metro Hall, to promote local multimodal transportation options.

The digital displays will feature live, real-time information and directions for Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) subways, buses and streetcars, Government of Ontario (GO) Transit buses and trains, Zipcar and car2go car-sharing lots and Bike Share Toronto (formerly Bixi) bicycle-sharing stations.

“As more and more cities commit to sustainable urban mobility, we will continue to help residents and visitors make more informed transportation choices,” says TransitScreen chief operating officer (COO) Ryan Croft (pictured, left, with Toronto’s deputy mayor Denzil Minnan-Wong, right).
