OOH extends to smartphones in the Path

Pattison Onestop, the digital signage division of out-of-home (OOH) advertising firm Pattison Outdoor, recently partnered with Zappit to launch a service that delivers OOH campaigns to consumers’ smartphones.

The new platform, dubbed Engage, is based on several interactive technologies, including near field communication (NFC), Quick Response (QR) codes and Short Message Service (SMS) texting. It has already been rolled out for static and dynamic displays in Toronto’s downtown Path pedestrian network, with plans for future expansion still under consideration.

“Engage will give marketers the ability to adopt a more targeted and personalized approach to advertising,” says Cam Milne, vice-president (VP) and general manager (GM) of Pattison Onestop. “We feel confident it will create new opportunities across our network.”
