Out-of-home (OOH) advertising firm Outfront Media, which operates billboards, transit posters and digital displays throughout Canada and the U.S., has hired Joel Melby as chief technology officer (CTO).
Melby’s experience spans 30 years of system engineering, software development and product management, including the deployment of video delivery network technology. He was most recently CTO of Clypd, which developed a programmatic TV platform for broadcasters and distributors. In his new role, he will oversee the team behind Outfront’s new On Smart Media platform for buying and delivering digital OOH (DOOH) campaigns. He reports to Andy Sriubas, executive vice-president (EVP) of strategic planning and development.
