Toronto-based Entro has designed new interior and exterior signage for Winnipeg’s Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) Convention Centre, following an expansion that nearly doubled its size to accommodate an increasing number of events.
With the addition of a new building, linked to the old one by a street-crossing bridge, the downtown venue now spans 24,155 m2 (260,000 sf). Entro’s sign system uses darker shades of blue for the older brutalist concrete structure, which emphasizes metal, glass and stainless steel finishes, and warmer caramel tones for the new building, which is filled with wood and beige, brown and earth tones.
Entro also updated the parking garage’s sign program and the exterior identification (ID) for RBC, the centre’s sponsor.
