Fujifilm North America Corp.’s Graphics Innovation Hub in Hanover Park, Ill., has achieved G7 Master Qualification with Targeted compliance (CRPC6) on its flexographic press.
The qualification has been awarded by Idealliance in Alexandria, Va., a not-for-profit group dedicated to guiding print production best practices, specifications, and standards. G7 is the company’s set of global standards for achieving grey balance to obtain visual similarity across all print processes. The application of this method enables printers to reproduce a consistent visual appearance across all printing types and substrates, which is useful in the printing of packaging.
To earn the compliance standard for its facility, Fujifilm had to undergo thorough training and complete the examination.
“Accuracy, predictability, and repeatability are important to our customers,” said Peter Pretzer, Fujifilm graphics systems division’s ColorPath solutions development manager. “Our commitment to G7 standards is just one example of how we’re maximizing the performance of flexographic solutions. We look forward to the benefits this qualification brings to our clients and their customers.”
Fujifilm offers its print customers training as part of the G7 Master Print Provider Qualification, G7 Expert and Professional training and certification, and G7 alignment of Fujifilm and third-party printing systems.
“Using and teaching G7 provides a significant advantage for Fujifilm’s customers,” said Mike Grady, vice-president of global partnerships at Idealliance. “Using the program helps assure their customers achieve uniform colour management processes.”
