- Signarama revealed its Edmonton franchise achieved the highest number of online sales among all of the chain’s North American locations in 2012, averaging more than 10 per month. Edmonton franchisee Colin Reid (pictured) credits recent improvements in search engine optimization (SEO), but has also promoted his website (www.edmontonsignarama.com) through events, word of mouth and, of course, outdoor signage.
- The Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD) is celebrating its 40th anniversary. It was established in 1973 as a community of architectural signage designers and has since been extended to encompass wayfinding, branded environments, public art and exhibitry.
- Digital signage software and appliance provider Stratacache announced the installation and deployment of its 50,000th digital menu board for the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry.
