Digital signage software developer Capital Networks, based in Markham, Ont., has won a product-of-the-year award for its ‘Audience for Android’ media player, which was introduced in June 2012.
As the name suggests, the device bundles Capital’s Audience software with Google’s Android operating system (OS) as a lower-cost alternative to personal computer-based (PC-based) digital signage hardware. It has been named product of the year in Signage Solutions magazine’s inaugural awards program, which has been designed to honour outstanding achievements in product development that advance the digital signage industry.
“We’re very happy to receive this recognition,” says Jim Vair, Capital’s vice-president (VP) of business development. “Since bringing Audience for Android to the market, we’ve found our customers think on a much larger scale when planning their digital signage projects.”
