Software developer Caldera announced its InkPerformer module, which helps sign and graphics shops manage their ink consumption, won a ‘Best of 2012’ award last month at the Viscom trade fair in Frankfurt, Germany.

Caldera’s vice-president (VP) of marketing Sebastien Hanssens (pictured, left) and CEO Joseph Mergui (right) accepted the award from Viscom’s sales manager Anja Heukrath (second from left) and event director Petra Lassahn (second from right).

The software module, which Caldera co-developed with Alwan Color Enterprise as a raster image processor (RIP) option, impressed the awards’ judging panel with its potential to yield considerable savings. The jury noted InkPerformer-based workflow adjustments would reduce the typical ink laydown by 20 to 35 per cent without compromising on output quality.

“We are delighted InkPerformer has been recognized by the Viscom jury as one of the top products launched in 2012,” says Hanssens. “It is foremost in our development strategy to make printing more rewarding for our products’ users. It is edifying when this is independently acknowledged by industry experts!”
