Wide-format printer vendor Mutoh America presented ‘The Road to Wrapping,’ a series of vehicle-wrapping demonstrations, at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Nev., from October 30 to November 2, 2012.
The demonstrations were developed to help SEMA’s automobile aftermarket buyers enter the vehicle wrap sector. Mutoh partnered with other companies to discuss the various steps involved.
Scanvec Amiable International (SAi) provided its Flexi 10 software for the design station, where vehicle templates were used to create wrap concepts. The resulting designs were then produced on Mutoh’s ValueJet 1624 printer, using specialty films from Arlon Graphics.
Royal Sovereign’s RSC-1401 laminator was used to finish the graphics before installing them on a 2011 Stett Performance Mustang. Finally, reseller partner Fellers discussed complete ‘starter’ sets of equipment for professionals entering the industry.
