Montreal-based Astral Out-of-Home has announced plans to add six new digital billboards along the Gardiner Expressway, one of Canada’s busiest thoroughfares, leading into and out of Toronto’s downtown core.
The project will include the addition of three standard 4.3 x 14.6-m (14 x 48-ft) digital billboards (example pictured) to Astral’s existing outdoor network, bringing the total to 20 in Toronto and 44 across Canada. These signs will be installed in January 2013.
The other three will represent a new, vertical 7.3 x 9.8-m (24 x 32-ft) format. These signs will be offered as a permanent presence for exclusive advertisers.
“We maintain our commitment both to the expansion of our digital network and to our advertisers by continuing to offer new and innovative ways to connect with consumers in the out-of-home (OOH) space,” says Luc Sabbatini, president of Astral Out-of-Home.
Using light-emitting diode (LED) technology to display content in millions of colours in high resolution, including text that is readable by night and day, the signs will be programmed and managed remotely from Astral’s control and broadcast centre in Montreal.
