Canadian signmakers were among those honoured earlier this year when ST Media Group announced the winners of its 35th annual International Sign Contest.
As in past years, judging was based on creativity, distinctive design and appropriateness of scale and location. The following are the 2012 Canadian recipients.
Commercial Building Signs
First place—Bernhardt Signs, Ottawa, Ont., for The Irish Village and Peter Devine’s.
Electric Free-standing Signs
Third place—Signature Sign & Image, Niagara Falls, Ont., for Magnolia Chinese Cuisine.
Exhibit and Trade Show Graphics
Second place—Kubik, Mississauga, Ont., for Brookfield.
Sign Systems
Second place—Sawatzky’s Imagination Corporation, Chilliwack, B.C., for Fox and Hounds Pub.
Unique Signs
Third place—Eyecandy Signs, Halifax, N.S., for Venus Envy.
