The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) has announced the winners of its Product of the Year award competition in a variety of printing categories. All of the entries were showcased and evaluated by a team of digital imaging professionals in the Golden Image Gallery at the 2012 SGIA Expo in Las Vegas, Nev., which ran from October 18 to 20. The following are this year’s winners:
- Poster-size solvent/latex printer: ValueJet 1638, Mutoh America.
- Flatbed rigid-substrate ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) printer under $200,000: Arizona 480 GT, Océ Display Graphics Systems.
- Flatbed rigid-substrate ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) printer with white ink under $200,000: Scitex FB500, HP.
- Flatbed rigid-substrate ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) printer over $200,000: Rho P10 250 (pictured), Durst Image Technology.
- Grand-format roll-to-roll solvent/latex printer: ValueJet 2638, Mutoh America.
- Digital inks: Latex inks, HP.
- Vinyl media: Silver Flash, Dreamscape.
- Pressure-sensitive vinyl media: PanoRama 1520, Continental Grafix.
- Films: HydroSol 205STLR, Continental Grafix.
- Textile-based media: Deko-Green 7058RCFLBS, Pacific Coast Fabrics.
- Rigid media: AlumaJet, Horizons Imaging Systems Group.
- Non-PVC, non-woven media: Counterdeco Advertising System, Flexcon.
- Display/exhibit hardware: VM-InvisiLock-30HP, Visual Magnetics.
- Finishing laminates, adhesives, films, coatings: Flexmark Floor Art OV6604 (Safari Overlaminate), Flexcon.
