Printable media manufacturer ConVerd has signed on as the official substrate provider for the 2012 Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) Expo, which will be held from October 18-20, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nev. All of the show’s aisle signs and meter boards will be printed on 6-mm (0.2-in.) thick ConVerd Board, which is designed as a recyclable and renewable alternative to foam- and styrene-based substrates, incorporating 10 per cent post-consumer waste. ConVerd’s wide- and super wide-format digital printing papers—which are used for backlit posters and point-of-purchase (POP) graphics—were reportedly the first to be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) for sustainability. Also, during the expo, Mutoh, Zünd and Esko will print and cut 3-mm (0.1-in.) thick ConVerd Board to create boxes, customized shapes, hotel door hangers and other promotional handout items.
