Boylan Imaging in Medicine Hat, Alta., installed a Designjet L25500 large-format thermal inkjet (TIJ) printer from HP Canada to help better serve its commercial customers in service industries, including education and health care.
Established in 1920, the large-format print service provider (PSP) has changed its services over the years and currently specializes in photographic prints, signage and trade show displays, among other applications that can take advantage of the L25500’s durable aqueous ‘latex’ inks.
“We chose the L25500 to complement the other machines in our fleet,” says John Boylan, president. “With its consistent output, we’ve been able to improve products like printed decals, as well as print on a wider range of media, including clear materials using opaque latex inks.”
Boylan also cites the machine’s fully automatic printhead testing and maintenance systems, which are helping the company save time and money by eliminating the need for daily manual servicing.
“We like the ease of maintenance,” he says. “The printheads are one-tenth the cost to replace compared to other products, which helps us save money.”
Boylan’s wide-format output includes posters, billboards, vehicle wraps, murals and canvas, watercolour paper and giclée prints.
