Calgary-based Bolder Graphics installed the first Pred8tor UV Press grand-format printer anywhere in Canada.

The privately owned packaging and display company, established more than 40 years ago, claims to offer the highest production capacity for large-format digital printing anywhere in Western Canada. Its 4,924-m2 (53,000-sf) production facility specializes in the design, printing and distribution of point-of-purchase (POP) graphics and corporate packaging materials.

While Bolder Graphics originally specialized in loose-leaf printing, it expanded into POP advertising in the 1980s and added large-format digital printing in 2006. The Pred8tor flatbed press will allow it to print on rigid sheets up to 1.2 x 2.4 m (4 x 8 ft) in size and up to 50 mm (2 in.) thick, with a roll-to-roll add-on unit supporting flexible materials in rolls up to 2.4 m (8 ft) wide and 406 mm (16 in.) in diameter, including heavy vinyl and mesh.
