The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC)/Radio-Canada and Montreal-based digital signage installer and content provider Telecine Multimedia shared a Gold Apex Award at the 2012 Digital Signage Expo (DSE) earlier this month.

The award honours a series of passive and interactive displays deployed in 2011 along the 1-km (0.6-mi) long concourse at Maison de Radio-Canada, the crown corporation’s regional headquarters in Montreal (see Sign Media Canada, January 2012, page 54). The concept was to depict Radio-Canada’s past, present and future.

Telecine implemented the project using software from Toronto-based Scala Canada to support content creation, management and distribution. Nominated by Scala, the project won in the business, industry and government category.

“We congratulate Radio-Canada on receiving this prestigious award,” says Tom Nix, CEO of Scala. “This truly Canadian media journey delights visitors through sight, sound and touch. It is highly innovative, particularly by connecting social media with digital signage.”
