The Digital Signage Expo (DSE) recently announced the finalists for its 2012 Apex and Content Awards, including a broad variety of projects developed by Canadian companies.

The Apex Awards recognize innovative digital signage installations as deployed at end users’ sites. This year’s finalists include projects for the Montérégie Tourism Centre in Montreal, CBC/Radio-Canada, CTV and Oxford Properties Group’s Scarborough Town Centre in Toronto, as well as Montreal-based Arsenal Media’s Sun Life Financial Buzzwall (pictured) at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif.

The Content Awards, meanwhile, honour originality in digital signage content itself. The CTV and Montérégie projects are among the finalists in this category, too, as are Toronto-based St. Joseph Content/Alchemy’s content for The Shoppes at Ocean Drive in Miami, Fla., and Arsenal’s work for the Christie Network Operations Center in Cypress, Calif., and the Miami Dolphins’ Sun Life Stadium BuzzWall.

Bronze, silver, gold and ‘award of the year’ winners will be announced on March 7 during DSE in Las Vegas, Nev.
