Belitec, a print service provider (PSP) in Trois-Rivieres, Que., has installed a Truepress Jet2500UV printer from Screen USA to improve the colour consistency and image detail of its output.

“We chose it to replace a six-year-old wide-format printer,” says printing and pre-press operator Jean-Philippe Laliberté. “The print quality and speed are far superior to what we had been able to produce before. Definition is noticeably improved. The images are sharper, cleaner and more vibrant.”

Founded in 1982, Belitec specializes in the wide-format inkjet printing and lamination of display graphics, including backlit posters, banners and point-of-purchase (POP) displays. The company uses many substrates, such as vinyl, fabrics, acrylic, foam-core board and corrugated plastic.

Its jobs are split evenly between rigid and roll-fed flexible materials, which was another factor in choosing a printer with ultraviolet-curable (UV-curable) inks.

“The inks adhere extremely well to the various rigid and flexible substrates we use,” says Laliberté, “and the machine handles the media changes smoothly.”
