Vinyl Xpress in Concord, Ont., recently installed a UJV-160 flatbed printer and JV34-260 super-wide-format printer, both from Mimaki, as well as a flatbed vinyl application and lamination table from Rollsroller.

“These machines have helped us produce stunning quality prints with faster turnaround times, allows us to take on more projects,” says Tal Kasimov, co-owner. “Further, we are able to get creative and make products not possible with standard inks.”

The UJV-160, for example, uses flexible 3M inks that can be printed directly onto polyvinyl chloride (PVC), boat sails and wood among other substrates.

“We have printed on glass, carpets, leather, tiles and even doors,” says Kasimov.

The JV34-260, based on the earlier JV33 series, produces graphics up to 2.6 m (104 in.) wide and achieves significantly faster speeds.

Founded in 2001, Vinyl Xpress specializes in producing signage for businesses, trade shows and retailers, including the Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC), Sears Canada and Levi’s.
