Richard Childress Racing (RCR) used Roland DGA’s wide-format inkjet printers and cutters to create a new look for its No. 29 Chevrolet, which raced on November 13 in the Chase for the Sprint Cup at the repaved Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Ariz.
The rebranded wrap’s colour scheme was patterned after lead sponsor Budweiser’s new ‘bow tie’ beer can design.
“Having inkjet printers on-site allows our team to keep up with the fast-paced world of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR),” says Nick Woodward, manager of the RCR graphics centre. “Our vehicle wraps change several times throughout the season—and sponsorships can change from race to race—so turning graphics around quickly is a key to our success.”
The No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet was driven by Kevin Harvick, who finished in 19th place out of 43 cars. RCR has won more than 190 races and 12 NASCAR championships since 1972.
