Dye-sub from the ground up

13Ope_STEM_image_03 copyEpson Canada has entered the dye-sublimation printing market for the first time with two roll-fed transfer printers, the SureColor F6070 and F7070.

Reportedly the first dye-sublimation printers anywhere in the market where every component has been designed and manufactured by a single company, the 1.1-m (44-in.) wide F6070 and 1.6-m (64-in.) wide F7070 use Epson’s new UltraChrome DS inks and 25-mm (1-in.) wide MicroPiezo TFP printheads, which are equipped with 720 nozzles per colour. They can both print up to 1,440 x 720 dots-per-inch (dpi) on transfer papers—including but not limited to Epson’s new low-tack-adhesive and standard multi-purpose papers—for the production of soft signage, apparel and accessories.

The F-series models were introduced this summer through Epson’s authorized dealers.
