A variety of Canadian projects were among the award winners announced during the annual Digital Signage Expo (DSE), which was held this year in Las Vegas, Nev., from February 22 to 25.

The independently judged DSE Apex and Content awards recognize innovative developments and deployments of digital signage. Montreal-based Arsenal Media was among the show’s biggest winners, taking home four awards. Three were gold awards honouring its displays and content for Nielsen (see video), while the fourth was a silver award for its content for Christie Digital Systems’ Shop-or-Play Interactive Station.

Other gold winners included: Scala and Jigsaw Interactive Design for the Bell Ice Cube in Vancouver; Omnivex, based in Concord, Ont., for Destination Shuttle Services; Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) for educational interactive content; and Montreal-based Zoom Media for its Sports Bytes content.

Also, St. Joseph Content won a silver award for content for the Bell Store, while the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto (pictured right) won bronze in the art, entertainment and recreation category.
