A broader Signarama

CNC router[1]The Signarama franchise for Peterborough, Ont., expanded operations with the installation of two computer numerical control (CNC) routers, which support a new in-house division focusing entirely on braille and tactile signage.

The division, called SDiSigns, is producing wayfinding and corporate signs with braille and tactile features for businesses and public-service buildings that require code-compliant products. With a 2 x 3-m (6.7 x 10-ft) cutting area and dimensional auto-carve capabilities, the CNC routing technology is also allowing the franchise to create other types of dimensional signage, including letters, logos and custom shapes, out of plastics, wood, metals and aluminum composite panels.

Besides branching out into accessibility signage, Signarama Peterborough recently partnered with Emmatt Digital to offer indoor digital signage under the BallyhooTV brand. This web-based advertising system helps businesses—including retailers, fitness studios, restaurants, bars and health-care facilities—use point-of-purchase (POP) liquid crystal displays (LCDs) to engage, educate and upsell their clients. The business owners can access their secure account from anywhere, at any time, to control their on-screen content.
