Posimage, a sign manufacturer in Quebec City, has installed an Acuity Advance ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) flatbed printer with roll media option from Fujifilm Canada.

Serving businesses throughout the province since 1989, Posimage’s diverse portfolio includes illuminated signs, channel letters, engraved signs, pylons, awnings, window graphics, banners and outdoor light-emitting diode (LED) displays. The Advance is its first flatbed UV printer.

“Due to a recent increase in demand for indoor signage, we had an imminent need to improve productivity in high-resolution printing,” says Martin Boisvert, founder and president.

By investing in a UV flatbed, the company was able to minimize finishing costs by printing directly onto substrates.

“It was an easy decision to make and I’m very satisfied,” says Boisvert.

Having started in vehicle lettering, Posimage now employs more than 65 specialists in various disciplines in a 2,044-m2 (22,000-sf) facility. Its customers include banks, retailers, offices and franchises. Some of its signs have gone on to win architectural awards.
