RP Graphics Group in Mississauga, Ont., has expanded its wide-format graphics department by installing an M-Press Leopard four-colour flatbed inkjet printer from Agfa Graphics.
The new equipment (pictured) follows RP’s acquisition in 2013 of Canadian Impact Imaging’s large format digital printing operations, also in Mississauga. The Leopard can reportedly print 295 m2 (3,175 sf) in high-quality mode and 171 m2 (1,841 sf) per hour in fine-art mode and will accommodate non-standard rigid substrates up to 50 mm (2 in.) thick.
“This is a significant investment that cements our position in the growing high-speed large-format segment of the print industry,” says George Mazzaferro, CEO.
“The addition of the M-Press Leopard gives us the scale and scope required to grow our market share in the retail sector,” says Claudio Castricone, vice-president (VP) of sales.
Founded in 1978 as Roma Printing, RP also continues to offer lithography, binding, mailing and variable data printing (VDP) services.
