Montreal-based X2O Media, which provides digital signage software, management and content services, has added a Yamerfall social media feed to Air Canada’s employee-facing Globe TV network.

Launched in 2008, Globe TV runs on X2O’s Xpresenter platform and keeps Air Canada’s cabin crew informed by displaying work-related information, news and weather on screens in training centres and other facilities across the country. By adding Yammerfall as an internal social media tool, the airline hopes to make it easier for in-flight service employees to connect with each other and stay up-to-date with important announcements.

Yammerfall is a continuous stream of messages from Yammer, an organizational social networking tool recently acquired by Microsoft. It is designed for internal collaboration, file sharing, knowledge exchange and team efficiency in private and secure environments.

“Xpresenter enables us to promote key messages to our cabin crew as they navigate our employee facilities,” says Bill Powell, manager of communication planning and delivery for Air Canada’s customer service divisions. “With the platform’s ability to integrate with real-time data feeds, incorporating Yammerfall as a content source is easy.”
