Avery Dennison awards Roland DGA with ICS Performance Guarantee

Printable film manufacturer Avery Dennison recently awarded Roland DGA’s new TrueVIS TR2 eco-solvent ink technology with its advanced Integrated Component System (ICS) Performance Guarantee.

The ICS Performance Guarantee for graphics printed with TR2 eco-solvent ink and the TrueVIS VG2 series 1626 mm (64 in.) and 1372 mm (54 in.) wide-format eco-solvent printer/cutters provides up to four years of warranty protection for outdoor printed graphics and up to seven years for indoor graphics.

“This is an important assurance for those who will be using our VG2 printers with Avery media,” said Roland DGA’s colour products and cutters product manager Daniel Valade. “After rigorous testing, Avery has set the recommended outgassing time for this combination at six hours, which is 75 per cent less than the recommended time for traditional solvent technology. This means businesses with tight project turnaround times, like vehicle wrap shops, can easily perform same-day printing and lamination while retaining a full graphics warranty.”

According to Avery Dennison’s original equipment manufacturer (OEM) relationship manager Paul Roba, the testing process required close collaboration between Avery and Roland DGA.

“We work closely with the engineering teams at Roland DGA to create solutions which offer performance and provide peace of mind to our customers,” said Roba. “We are happy to add another print platform with the TrueVIS VG2 series and TR2 ink to our Integrated Component System Warranty Program.”

In addition to an eco-solvent TR2 ink, Roland’s TrueVIS VG2 series incorporates various features for increased efficiency, productivity, and ease of use. A true rich colour preset allows bright colours to combine with neutral greys, smooth gradations, and natural skin tones.
