BOCSI Awards: Quarterhorse Solutions wins Sign Systems category

The Best of Canada’s Sign Industry Awards (BOCSIes) honours the top work of sign companies, related organizations, and individuals across the country.

Entries to this year’s awards program, which is jointly managed by Sign Media Canada and the Sign Association of Canada (SAC), came in from sign professionals across the country. With the judges reviewing hundreds of eligible projects, Sign Media Canada, along with SAC, is now proud to showcase the winners of the BOCSIes competition.

This year’s competition attracted many high-calibre projects, representing the best of the best from all corners of Canada’s sign industry. With final scores proving close, all entrants deserve congratulations for the outstanding quality of their work. In this regard, we are including the runners-up.

Sign Systems

The winner is Quarterhorse Solutions for Brentwood Block PC

Primary Materials & Methods: This luxury presentation centre features the following elements:

Branded “B” selfie mirror: Constructed from layered medium-density fibreboard (MDF) with a lacquered finish, this mirror includes moss and greenery inside the frame, with LED perimeter lighting for a halo glow. The mirror is made of bronze reflective acrylic, with encouraging dimensional text on the surface.

Illuminated world map: A 101.6 mm (4 in.) deep wall from MDF, with continent cutouts houses push-through sign white acrylic landmasses, backlit with LEDs. Information plaques with backlit images and halo lighting, stand-off bolts marking office locations, and cables illustrating global connectivity complete the map. Painted dimensional acrylic labels and highlights emphasize key locations and the client’s brand.

Project information and lifestyle photos: Digitally printed on non-glare acrylic, these were inserted into custom metal frames and suspended off the walls.

Dimensional text: Made from painted acrylic, this text was pinned off the wall for a striking effect.

Clear vinyl patterns: Applied to the drywall to create subtle accent effects.

Large silicone edge graphics (SEG) fabric lightboxes: Printed with drone photos of the surrounding landscape, these lightboxes were installed in the display room to replicate the potential view customers can expect.
