Bringing graphics to water
PNH Solutions, a large-format print service provider (PSP) in Dorval, Que., has installed a Latex 3000 printer from HP Canada to broaden its application versatility, improve printing quality, increase productivity and meet higher standards for sustainability.
“We wanted to provide broader application versatility in outdoor and retail advertising, along with the environmental benefits of water-based inks,” says Francois Hudson, vice-president (VP) of PNH. “The Latex 3000 enables us to move more jobs from traditional solvent-based in ultraviolet-curable (UV-curable) ink platforms to durable aqueous inkjet printing.”
By adding the printer, PNH can now print scratch-resistant graphics on heat-sensitive substrates, self-adhesive vinyl, papers and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) banners for retail signage, trade show displays, exhibits, outdoor ads and vehicle graphics. The printer can reportedly print up to 77.1 m2 (830 sf) per hour for high-resolution indoor graphics and 120 m2 (1,290 sf) per hour for outdoor applications.
PNH plans to install a second Latex 3000 printer this year at its other sales and production facility in Mississauga, Ont.
