Two signage projects created to help commemorate Canada 150 are among this year’s winners in the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association’s (SGIA’s) Golden Image Competition, as announced earlier this month during the SGIA Expo in New Orleans, La.
Judges evaluated 300 entries from more than 60 companies in 53 categories. In the metal signs category, Imprint Plus of Richmond, B.C., won the gold award for a Canada 150 badge it produced (pictured right).
In the category for digitally printed vehicle wraps, meanwhile, Alpine Graphic Productions of Schomberg, Ont., earned an honourable mention with its Canada 150 wraps of Via Rail’s trains (example pictured left).
“The competition showcases the very best from the world’s leading print service providers (PSPs),” says Johnny Shell, SGIA’s vice-president (VP) of technical services. “Golden Image honours are only awarded to those who show remarkable control in their techniques.”
