To celebrate Canada Day across the country, Nissan Canada projected three-dimensional (3-D) ‘holographic’ images onto screens of water at four different shows in Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa and Halifax on July 1.
Each show used submerged nozzles to spray a thin layer of water onto a screen, which diffused light to project the images toward the audience (see video). Working with marketers at Newad Experiential, OMD and TBWA, Nissan is reportedly the first company to use the technology anywhere in Canada.
Thousands of spectators viewed the nighttime projections, which featured the Canadian flag, a lighthouse rising from the water and Nissan’s 2013 Altima sedan in action.
“We are proud to deliver innovation and excitement by presenting the first show of its kind here on Canada Day,” says Judy Wheeler, director of marketing for Nissan Canada. “Pairing the Altima with the 3-D water show was an optimal way for us to showcase Nissan’s direction as a company.”
