[1]Six Canadian companies are among the 55 Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) members specially honoured with the organization’s annual safety awards, in recognition of their efforts throughout 2017.
The Canadian recipients include Ampco Manufacturing in Coquitlam, B.C., Wachiay Studio in Courtenay, B.C., Graphic Ad in Humboldt, Sask., Tasus in Hamilton, Holland & Crosby in Mississauga, Ont., and Auto Trim Design in Concord, Ont. SGIA members can receive the awards for completing specified actions, such as attending relevant webinars, creating in-house safety committees and conducting bimonthly checks.
“Safe working conditions benefit everyone by reducing employees’ chances of workplace injuries and illnesses and, in turn, reducing employers’ costs,” says Allison Lundy, SGIA’s regulatory affairs co-ordinator for government and business information. “We saw increased participation levels in 2017 and hope this trend will continue this year.”
