Two new wayfinding touch screens have been installed in a remodelled boarding area at San Francisco International Airport in California’s San Mateo County, using Moxie software from Omnivex in Concord, Ont., as their digital signage platform.

“The screens enable travellers to easily find the best route to get where they need to go, whether by walking or taking an automated train,” explains Vicki Sundstrom, the airport’s manager of signage and wayfinding. “They also allow passengers to explore options for dining and shopping.”

With plans to add more of touch screens throughout the airport, the ‘location-smart’ system predetermines appropriate destinations based on passengers’ pre- or post-security screening status.

“By standardizing Moxie as our primary platform, we can push digital communications years ahead of what other airports are doing,” says Sundstrom.
