Canon Canada Inc., has named Nobuhiko Kitajima its new president and CEO.

Kitajima, who joined Canon Canada in 2018 as the executive vice-president and general manager for the Imaging Systems Group and Professional Printing Solutions Group, succeeds Taizaburo Egawa, who will be leaving Canon Canada and returning to Japan.

Kitajima began his career with Canon Inc., in 1981. He has worked for the organization in several regions including Japan, Europe, and the United States. In 1986, he joined Canon USA as a regional administrative manager for the medical division in Canon’s western regional office.

He returned to Canon Inc., in 1993 before rejoining Canon USA in 2002 where he went on to hold several senior leadership positions in the Business Imaging Solutions Group’s large-format printer division and the Innovative Business Development division.

In 2016, Kitajima, who holds a bachelor of arts degree in law from Aoyama Gakuin University in Japan, was promoted to vice-president and general manager, marketing, Business Imaging Solutions Group at Canon USA.
